I am the General Manager at Fillmore Seeds Inc. in Fillmore, Canada.

How long have you worked for Fillmore Seeds?

I have worked here since 2014.

What are your responsibilities?

At Fillmore Seeds Inc. we procure, process and ship pulses, oilseeds and special crops. I oversee the day-to-day operations at both our Saskatchewan locations in Fillmore and Avonlea. Part of my responsibilities include ensuring that delivery and shipping timelines are met. As well as, ensuring the quality of the product shipped meets our customers’ needs.

What is you history/career path prior to Fillmore Seeds?

I have worked in the pulse industry since 1995. Throughout the years I have been involved in most of the key areas of a processing plant. Beginning with packaging, then progressing into buying grain, and now I am a Plant Operator and General Manager.

What do you enjoy most about working for Fillmore Seeds?

I enjoy the variety of work and day-to-day challenges.

What is your favorite story/memory about working for Fillmore Seeds?

Recently, my favorite memory is when Fillmore was approved for our high capacity processing and loadout expansion in 2016. The expansion allows us to process and ship 5000mt per week of pulses at our Fillmore facility.

What important values do you think Fillmore Seeds delivers on?

I believe an important value is the amount of focus Seaboard puts on its staff, producers and customers.

What surprised you the most about your job or its location?

In the past, I have worked for relatively small exporters. With Seaboard’s size, I was surprised by how welcoming the company made me feel, and how easy it was adapting to the Seaboard processes.

How do you spend your free time? What do you like to do in the city where you live?

I spend my free time taking my kids to dance and baseball. I live on a small farm so there is never a shortage of work.

What is your hidden talent? Or something most people don’t know about you?

Something people don’t know about me is that in the summer months I enjoy racing my Ford Mustangs.
